Fishing Card 2018 almost ready!
The Fishing Card (Veidikortid) for the 2018 season is almost ready, but it will be distributed to ratail stores in about two weeks. We have started to sell it online for those who can´t wait!
Great char fishing in Lake Þingvallavatn
Lake Þingvallavatn is great at this time of year. The great char is coming closer to the banks to breed. Aron Jarl Hillers went there couple of days ago and got a very nice 58 cm char. Marcin was also fishing there on the same day and also got some nice chars. See below some pictures from them from their fishing trips.

Even though June has been quite nice, with rain and good weather between storms, it looks like the lakes are a bit colder than in an average year. Therefore the char is a bit late and finally we are seeing more of the char now at lake Þingvallavatn and Ulftljotsvatn. Upcoming weeks are in a way high season in the lakes since there is more fish around looking for something delicious to eat closer to the waterbank.
Fishing season 2017 starts tomorrow 1st of April
The fishing season 2017 starts formally tomorrow. The weather forecast is great and the lakes are in good shape after mild winther.

Extreamly warm winter and no ice!
This winter has been unusually warm and hardly any ice on many lakes.
At this time of year, thick ice is normally on most lakes so it has been easy to spend a day on the thick ice and fish through it. This year is hardly any ice on many lakes.
